Good news and bad news

The bad news is that our little Corolla is no more . . .

The good news is that my beloved is miraculously safe and sound!  And we get a brand new car.

Say howdy to the hulas

I don't know if you know this about me but I worked in Hawaii for 4 months in 2000.  Spending January through May in 80 degree temperatures was a burden I had to bear, you're welcome!

It was fun and interesting and sad in a way, I worked so much I didn't have time to island hop so I spent all of my time on Oahu in my proper work attire.  My mom came for a visit and I did get a chance to go to the Polynesian Cultural Center and glimpse the North Shore.

The people were incredible and being with them was the highlight of my time there.  The reason I bring this up is our friends from England, Kathy and Jim are taking a break from the gloom and enjoying Hawaii . . . makes me homesick and V would kill for those temperatures about now.

Beads and Beehives

In the LDS church we have a young womens program for teens and the 12 to 13-year old girls are called Beehives.  My friend Barb asked me to help her class make bracelets and what a time we had!  Here are the results and note:  one of the girls took these pictures with my phone - not bad!

you say tomato, I say eyelid

as I was heading out the door this morning, my darling asked if I knew where his scale could be?  I was thinking he wanted to weigh something while cooking, but no, he wanted to scratch his back while I am not there to do it for him (quizzical look emoticon here).  I showed him the scales we have in the kitchen and he would have none of them.  Finally the light went on - he was looking for a RULER!
