Pongol and peanut chutney - doncha wish you had some too?

My dearest made Indian breakfast on Sunday! Pongol is a dish made from rice, lentils, peppercorns and cashews (and a myriad of yummy spices that I can't begin to name). It has the consistency on porridge and you eat it with chutney, ours was PEANUT (my hands-down favorite). No meat, no mess, just good hot eatin'.

Our niece, Bethany is turning 8 and getting baptised Saturday! Her daddy will perform the baptism and we are all invited.

I just had to share these pictures of my darling with the lunch money thug looking at a junky Volkswagon, (my dad used to pronounce it "Wolkswagon"). This guy was sound asleep when Ven called him and it took him forever to come outside, obviously, he was dressing for success??

Uncle Venkat!

We took my brother Shawn's kids to Tandoor for a night of spice and savour! Spencer LOVES Indian food and the girls were good sports about nibbling everything. It was a rainy night and Venkat covered Ellie with table linens to warm her up!

round round, get around, he gets around

My precious has been contemplating a new old car. I still drive the beast (who, by the way, is a TOP candidate for smash my car and cough up the dough) and he is thinking that he would drive the new/old and I would drive the Corolla and we would use the beast for shop business. He found two bottle green Honda Civics yesterday in American Fork (I swear it is in the water).

Dedicated to the ones we love

Venkat and I have been blessed with some darling friends. Kathy and Jim Williams truly have the wanderlust. They live in England but have visited the US 19 times, one of which is when they met my beloved (who, at the time was serving at Denny's). That was 10 years ago and they have become a huge part of his life. I met them last year - a total surprise that Venkat had a wife!

They just spent 2 weeks in Malta and hope to come back to see us next year - we're looking forward to it!
